Announcing the arrival of“Benny Boo’s Parade of Joy”!
Avril Henry is delighted to announce the arrival of Benny Boo’s Parade of Joy. A delightful book for children and the child at heart alike, dedicated to the love of dogs and their antics and reminding us how to live in the moment!
Earlier this year I stepped completely out of my “writing comfort zone”, and on a flight from Perth to Sydney wrote a children’s book. I’d had a dream for some time to write a children’s book, but didn’t want to take the risk of being seen as “not serious” by those who have read my books on leadership, then I realised that as adults we often learn really important lessons from our children, pets and children’s books when we read to our children. The dream has now become a reality and my first children’s book has just been published today, 11 November 2010. This children’s book, “Benny Boo’s Parade of Joy,” combines what you can learn from your children, dogs and reading to your children.
The star of the book, Benny, is my Spoodle, who has reminded me of the most important lesson regarding work/life balance, which I had forgotten in recent years. The best way to get work/life balance is to live in the moment, and enjoy that moment! There is no point worrying about the past, as it is done, and you can’t change it. There’s no point worrying about the future, as you cannot create it; what is going to happen, will happen. The only influence you have over the past and the future is how you think about, and react to situations and people, nothing more and nothing less! Every day you get to make choices and pick your attitude.
I have been reminded of the simple pleasurable things in life by spending time every day with Benny and his doggy friends, such as showing people you love how happy you are to see them, smelling the grass, having fun with friends and taking time to play. The photography featuring 9 amazing dogs is simply beautiful and joyous, so I invite you to buy a copy for your child, the children in your lives or for the child in you, and relearn how to live in the moment! This will make an excellent Xmas gift or stocking filler. And most importantly of all, ten percent of the profits will be donated to an animal charity which rescues abandoned elderly and sick dogs so they can spend their last days with dignity and love.
Kind Regards,
Avril Henry
